Property fire
Fire Control received calls from members of the public reporting a lot of smoke in the area and on investigating found this to be a property alight.
3 Fire engines and a support officer were sent to the location. On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a garage fire, which was attached to 2 domestic dwellings, well alight.
Crews got to work with 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and 1 covering jet. Crews requested the attendance of a 4th fire engine, as breathing apparatus was increased to 4 wearers and crews increased to 2 hose reel jets, 2 safety jets and 2 thermal imaging cameras.
The Officer in Charge then requested a further 2 fire engines to attend, taking the total to 6.
This was a garage fire, measuring approx 5m by 10m which was attached to domestic properties. The garage was completely destroyed by fire and neighbouring properties sustained approx 25% smoke damage. The fire was extinguished using 6 breathing apparatus wearers, 4 hose reel jets, 3 covering jets, small tools, short extension ladders and thermal imaging cameras.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
