Property Fire
At 04:23 Fire Control received a call reporting smoke issuing from a domestic property in Minehead. Fire Crews from Minehead were immediately mobilised to attend along with an appliance from Porlock. On arrival crews requested an additional pump to assist with additional personnel. Crews were at work using 4 Breathing Apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and 1 safety jet after confirming fire in a 2 storey property.
Another appliance was requested to bring total to 5 pumps on scene and an Incident Support Unit was also en route.
At 05:17 the Incident Commander requested the total number of appliances be brought up to 8 to assist with Breathing Apparatus and additional personnel at the incident.
The incident is now sectorised into 2 sectors with 6 BA 3 hose reel jets and 2 attack jets in use to extinguish the fire which had now spread into the roof space.
06:18 - Steady progress is being made at the scene to contain the fire.
Update
The fire has been extinguished. Fire and smoke damaged both floors and the roof space of the house. It was extinguished using breathing apparatus and water jets. No reports of injuries. Accidental cause.
