Property fire

Fire Control mobilised appliances from Appledore, Bideford and Barnstaple to reports of a property fire in Westward Ho!

On arrival crews confirmed smoke was issuing but that all persons were accounted for. The fire was found to be involving logs stored next to a log burner. 1 Hose Reel Jet and 1 Safety Jet, a Gas Monitor and Thermal Imaging Camera were also used to bring the incident under control. All fire damage was confined to within the fire place. There was smoke damage throughout the property. The cause of the fire was accidental.

Please ensure all wood is stored well away from the heat of log burners and open fires to avoid accidental ignition through heat transfer or sparks.
