Fire Control carried out fire survival guidance to a caller who was alerted by their smoke detector but was initially unable to vacate their property because of a fire. The caller was able to leave the property at the rear before the arrival of fire crews.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a fire within the front porch area of the property, which was caused by an electrical issue.
The fire was extinguished using 1 hose reel jet, 2 breathing apparatus wearers, 1 covering jet, dry powder extinguisher, small tools and a thermal imaging camera.
1 adult and 1 child suffering from smoke inhalation, were conveyed to hospital by ambulance crews as a precaution.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
