Property fire

The Fire Service received calls to a fire in the living room of a domestic property in Sandford, near Crediton.  Three fire engines from Danes Castle, Exeter, Middlemoor, Exeter and Witheridge attended.

Fire crews confirmed a fire involving the front room on the ground floor of a mid-terraced property measuring 8 metres by 6 metres.  Approximately 60% of the ground floor front room was damaged by fire and heat; and 80% of the property was damaged by smoke.  The fire was extinguished by fire crews using 2 breathing apparatus wearers, 1 hose reel jet, a positive pressure ventilation fan, a safety jet and a thermal image camera.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
