Fire Control mobilised three fire appliances to reports of smoke coming from a flat in Plymouth. On arrival crews found the smoke alarm sounding and discovered a smell of burning in the first floor flat. Firefighters using 2 Breathing Apparatus gained entry using small tools and entered with a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. One safety jet was also deployed as a precaution. A small fire was found in the kitchen involving cooking left unattended.
Never leave cooking unattended and check smoke alarms regularly.
