Property fire
Fire control received multiple calls to a commercial property on fire in the Marsh Barton area of Exeter.
Control mobilised 2 fire appliances and an Aerial ladder platform from Danes castle and 1 fire appliance from Middlemoor along with an officer.
10 minutes after the first crews arrived on scene, control received a message from the incident ground to make pumps 5, these fire appliances were sent from Middlemoor and Exmouth along with 2 officers and the Incident Command Unit from Honiton.
First informative from scene confirmed 1 commercial property alight and fire had broken through the roof. 4 Breathing apparatus and 2 Hose reel jets are in use attacking the fire.
Crews have now increased breathing apparatus to 6 and have 3 HRJ and 1 safety jet in use. On scene crews confirmed the ICU from Honiton were no longer required so they were returned on route.
Update 06:06 - the fire is now believed to be out and crews were still continuing to damp down hotspots with 4 BA, 2 HRJ and 1 safety jet.
Update 07:15 - Crews confirmed 1 single storey industrial unit measuring approx. 20 x 12m was 30% damaged by fire and 70% damaged by heat and smoke. Crews used 6 Breathing Apparatus, 3 Hose Reel Jets, Safety Jet and 1 Thermal Imaging Camera. The fire has been deemed as accidental.
