Property fire
Fire control received multiple calls to a property fire in Ugborough. 3 Fire engines (Buckfastleigh, Ivybridge and Ashburton) were assigned to the incident alongside an officer.
On arrival crews confirmed the asbestos roof of the domestic premises was well alight and requested an ariel platform ladder (Crownhill, Plymouth), 1 further fire engine (Newton Abbott), a water bowser (Plympton) and a hazardous materials officer attend to support.
Crew then requested a further 2 fire engines attend to help tackle the fire (Crownhill, Plymlouth).
Crews got to work with 6 breathing apparatus, 5 jets, 1 thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. The drone has been deployed to assist with the fire investigation.
The fire is now out, the property resulted in 50% fire damage and 50% smoke and heat damage.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
