Outdoor fire

We received several calls to a Heathland Fire in the Quantock Hills area at 20:22 this evening.

Crews attended from Taunton, Bridgwater, Nether Stowey and Middlemoor Exeter using 3 Fire Engines, a Water Bowser and Wildfire All Terrain Vehicles. Steady progress was made using beaters and Scotty backpacks alongside the All Terrain Vehicles and a Tractor with a Water Bowser. 

This incident is ongoing with further information to follow.

Update at 01:41 - following a revisit to the incident location crews confirmed that the fire is now extinguished and all fire appliances have now left the scene.
