Outdoor fire

Fire crews received calls for smoke in the area of Dunsford. One fire appliance from Danes Castle was mobilised and upon arrival crews made up for a 4x4 vehicle from Chagford and a water carrier from Danes Castle.  Fire crews also requested an additional four fire appliances to be mobilised for crewing, these came from Chagford, Moretonhampstead, Middlemoor and Bovey Tracey.  The command support unit from Honiton was also mobilised. 

Crews are at work preventing fire spread which is 350 metres by 50 metres with beaters and hose reel jets.

6.07pm - Open water source, fogging unit, light portable pumps and drone also in use. Fire now surrounded, dampening down hotspots.

The fire was extinguished at around 9pm.
