Hazardous materials

Fire control were called by a member of the North Petherton Carnival reporting a small of gas.

Control mobilised 2 fire appliances from Bridgwater, 1 envrionmental protection unit and a support appliance from Taunton and 2 supporting officers.

Police already on scene for the carnival liaised with fire crews to insigate a 500m cordon due to this being a confirmed leak from a gas main. All of this was taking place whilst crews awaited the arrival of the gas board.

Once the gas board arrived, the incident was handed over to them and police to allow works to fix the leak and for the carnival procession to still take place.
