Domestic property Fire

Fire control received a 999 call, reporting a fire in the downstairs of a property in Dorchester Road, Taunton. Two Fire Engines were sent from Taunton. On arrival crews confirmed that there was smoke and flames issuing and people still within the property. A further Fire Engine from Bridgwater was then sent to assist. Crews rescued one adult female, 2 children and 1 dog from the property via a first floor window.

The fire was extinguished using:

• 6 Breathing Apparatus
• 2 Hose Reel Jets
• 1 Safety Jet
• Triple Extension Ladder
• Ventilation fan
• Thermal Image camera

There was 60 per cent fire and smoke damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout. The Ambulance was called to check over the residents. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
