Gaining entry
Gaining entry relates to emergency calls where there is a concern for the safety or welfare of a patient inside premises and the ambulance service is unable to gain access.
Often, this is where a person has collapsed and is not able to open the door. In that event, the ambulance service can ask for our help to gain entry.
Claiming for damage
If damage is caused during gaining entry, claims should be directed to the South Western Ambulance Service (SWAST).
