Crew Manager - Fire Control Data Team

Summary

Fire Control is currently recruiting a Crew Manager (Control) to work within the Control Data Team, and applications are invited from those who are interested in the role as either a lateral move or a promotion opportunity.

This opportunity is available on a temporary basis until 30 June 2026.

The successful applicant should acknowledge that their appointment does not, in anyway, confer the right to be permanently appointed to this role, at this rank or to move to another role at the same rank, whether permanent or temporary. Should the decision subsequently be made to make this specific role permanent, Service leadership reserves the right, but is not obliged to, appoint the temporary post holder permanently without a further recruitment process. 

From 1 April, we have introduced development rates of pay for any new individuals moving into a development or an acting up role. These pay rates are set out by the National Joint Council.

Applications are invited from existing Firefighters and Crew Managers. Eligible applicants will need to meet the following criteria as a minimum: 

  • Be a competent Firefighter
  • If applying as a promotion, or for On-Call staff; have been successful at a Leading Others Assessment Centre or ADC. 
  • Have good leadership skills
  • Not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions. 
  • Discussed the opportunity with your Line Manager.
