Property fire

Fire control received a call from a resident of a block of flats stating there was smoke issuing from a flat and alarms were sounding.

Fire control mobilised 2 fire appliances and 1 aerial ladder platform from torquay and 1 fire appliance from Paignton.

Once on scene, crews promptly confirmed a fire within a flat with 4 BA, 1 hose reel jet and 1 safety jet in use and also requesting a fourth appliance. This was mobilised from Newton Abbot.

01:51 - Crews have confirmed fire within a flat of 5 storey building and that all persons are accounted for. Crews are at work with 6 breathing apparatus, 3 hose reel jets, 1 covering jet, 2 smoke curtains, 2 thermal imaging cameras and a smoke hood.

01:59 - Control received a make up message requesting a further 2 appliances. These are attending from Paignton and Teignmouth along with specialist appliances from Martock, Totnes and Ivybridge.
