Property fire

Crews from Hatherleigh, Okehampton, and Danes Castle attended a fire involving a barn. The barn was 40 meters by 40 meters in size and contained approximately 300 tonnes of silage. There was fire damage to the fascia boards and guttering of the building. Crews extinguished the fire using one compressed air foam jet, one hose reel jet, one 45mm jet, two breathing apparatus, one thermal imaging camera, one triple extension ladder, and small tools. The farmer also assisted by removing burnt materials to open ground using a tractor from on site. The cause of the fire was accidental.
