Fire Control received reports of fire and smoke coming from an upstairs window of a property this evening with one person still believed to be inside the property. Two fire engines from our Greenbank station along with a further engine from our Plymstock station were mobilised to the incident along with a supporting fire officer.

Once in attendance the fire officer was able to rescue two persons from the property prior to our fire engines reaching the scene.

Crews quickly set to work with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one safety jet. An ambulance was requested for the scene to attend to two casualties suffering smoke inhalation.

The fire was involving bedroom curtains and bedroom furniture and was believed to have started from the sun reflecting on an ornament in the window.

The fire was quickly extinguished with moderate damage sustained to the bedroom and the remainder of the upstairs area.

These are the final details for this incident.
