Crews attended a property on fire in a ground floor flat, with smoke issuing on arrival. It was unknown whether persons were inside the property. Crews requested further assistance and escalated the incident to 5 appliances.

Crews put a fire out using 8 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 2 safety jets and 1 covering jet, a thermal imaging camera and a ladder. Positive pressure ventilation was also used. Crews efforts were hampered by hoarding in the property. One elderly female occupant was suffering with smoke inhalation and was tended to by fire service personnel with oxygen therapy until the arrival of paramedics.

The fire caused severe damage to the flat by smoke and fire, and the cause was accidental by a cigarette. These are the final details.
