Fire control received calls reporting a derelict building on fire in Torrington. Two fire engines were sent and on arrival crews confirmed this large derelict building was on fire and requested another fire engine to assist with personnel.
Crews got to work using foam jets, hose reel jets, and breathing apparatus to try and extinguish the fire.
At 1800 crews requested a further 2 fire engines, aerial ladder platform and a water bowser to assist. Crews are still in attendance and will be for some time. The Police are also on scene as believe this fire was deliberately started.
Final update 0500 - this incident is now complete. Crews have extinguished the fire and the cause was deliberate. The Police also attended.
