Road traffic collision

Two fire appliances from Ilminster and Chard were mobilised to Chillington, between Ilminster and Crewkerne, following a request from Ambulance for our attendance to a one vehicle RTC, where someone was reported to be trapped.

On arrival crews confirmed that the car was on its roof and set to work stabilising the vehicle before extricating the casualty. They soon had the casualty released from their entrapment but they remained in the vehicle being medically assessed by the paramedics. Once safe to do so crews extricated the casualty into the hands of medical staff before they were conveyed to hospital. Crews then made the vehicle and scene safe before leaving duty of care with the Police as the road was completely blocked. Crews have now left the scene and these are the full and final details.
