Property fire

Fire control received over 20 999 emergency calls reporting flames coming from an upstairs window of a top floor flat. Three fire engines were immediately sent, however due to the amount of calls and information being passed, Fire control increased the attendance to four fire engines and one aerial ladder platform. On arrival crews confirmed there was a fire in a bedroom of the flat and the fire was spreading.

The fire was extinguished using:

• 4 breathing apparatus
• 2 hose reel jets
• 1 safety jet
• 2 thermal image cameras

There were no casualties and the fire was accidental. There was 30 per cent fire damage to bedroom and second floor and 100 per cent smoke damage to the property.
