Property fire

We received several calls reporting a fire near a hotel. 2 fire engines were initially sent, but before they got on scene they asked for a further 2 fire engines because there was a large fire in the distance.

On arrival crews believed it was a holiday chalet on fire but have since confirmed it is a shed but affecting a building next to it.

The fire has now been extinguished using:

• 6 breathing apparatus
• 3 hose reel jets
• 1 main jet
• 3 thermal image cameras
• Smoke clearance fan
• Small tools

This fire involved a wooden laundry store, which spread to a hotel corridor. The laundry store was 100 per cent damaged by fire and the hotel corridor was 10 per cent damaged by fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation and the Police were also requested to attend.
