Fire control received a 999 call asking for assistance with a large horse in a water filled ditch. 1 fire engine and a specialist animal rescue team were sent.
On arrival crews confirmed there was 1 horse in a water filled ditch and started setting up water rescue equipment. The horse was rescued using a telehandler from a local farmer and specialist animal rescue equipment. The horse was assessed by a vet on the scene.
