Fire control received a 999 call reporting a tumble dryer on fire within a domestic property. 3 fire engines were originally sent and on arrival crews confirmed the ground floor to be well alight.

Crews then asked for further assistance, so another 2 fire engines and a command support unit were sent.

The fire was extinguished using:

  • 6 breathing apparatus
  • 2 hose reel jets
  • 2 main jets
  • 2 smoke clearance fans
  • 2 thermal image cameras.

The fire was in the ground floor utility room, which was 100 per cent damaged by fire. The remainder of the ground floor was 25 per cent damaged by fire and 100 per cent by smoke.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
