Crews were sent to reports of a semi-detached house on fire, with an adjacent heating oil tank involved. On arrival, crews requested a further appliance for assistance as the building was well alight. Soon after, crews requested a further two appliances due to the size of the fire, making a total of six fire appliances and supporting appliances.
Shortly after, another two appliances were requested, confirming gas and oil involved in the fire, and Police were requested to close the road. One domestic property was fully involved in the fire, along with several outbuildings, oil drums and several cars nearby. Two water bowsers were requested at this point.

The ground floor was severely damaged by smoke, heat and water. An external oil drum had ruptured and was also involved in fire. Two vehicles on the driveway were also severely damaged by fire. Fire crews used two CAFS jets, two hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus wearers and the aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire.
Crews managed to protect the adjoining property and nearby outbuildings including a self-contained flat.
A crew are likely to be there for most of the day checking for hotspots and damping down.
