Vehicle fire

A crew from Yelverton were mobilised following a call from the driver of a car that caught fire up on the hills at Cadover Bridge nr Yelverton, confirming flames were coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was well alight on our arrival and we soon had it extinguished using 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera. They remained on scene for a while damping down the vehicle, which was unfortunately completely destroyed by the fire. Duty of care was left with the owner arranging recovery and the Environment Agency due to an amount of oil and fuel that had leaked on the moorland as a result.
