Fire control received a call from a member of the public regarding a horse stuck in a water-filled ditch.

Fire control assigned an Animal Rescue Tactical Advisor to the incident. At the request of the officers and crews, we subsequently sent two fire engines from Street and Taunton, a special rescue appliance from Bridgwater, and an environmental protection unit from Taunton to assist.

On arrival, crews assessed the situation and got to work with lines and strops and a lot of person power to safely free the horse into the hands of a vet.
