Vehicle fire

2 fire appliances from Torrington and Bideford, together with a water carrier from Barnstaple, were mobilised following a call from the owners of a farm who had a tractor on fire in the yard near to some outbuildings at Frithelstockstone nr Great Torrington. On arrival of the first crew the tractor, towing a hedge trimmer, was well alight and quickly spread to a small outbuilding.

Crews made good and steady progress bringing the fire under control, using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 main jet and quantity of compressed air foam. The tractor was completely destroyed by fire and the outbuilding partially destroyed but no other outbuildings were effected and there were no injuries. The incident was brought under control at 21:12hrs and once the vehicle and scene was made safe duty of care was left with the owners.
