Our partnerships

Grants to voluntary, community, and social enterprise organisations

The Service does not give grants but is committed to forming or joining community safety partnerships that assist us in achieving our organisational priorities. Community safety partnerships are established on a regular basis and where appropriate this may include an element of funding that would be recorded and monitored through an official partnership agreement.

The word ‘partnership’ is used with increasing frequency in public, private, and voluntary sectors and can mean different things to different people. In the context of the Service, a community safety partnership is a joint working arrangement where the partners:

  • are otherwise independent bodies
  • agree to cooperate to achieve common goals and outcomes for the community
  • share accountability, risks, and/or resources
  • create an organisational structure with agreed processes and programmes.

If you are interested in the opportunity of establishing a community safety partnership with the Service, please email communitygroups@dsfire.gov.uk (mailto:communitygroups@dsfire.gov.uk).

If you would like support in seeking funding or grants for a community safety project, please contact our partner organisation SAFE South West (http://www.safesouthwest.co.uk/).

We work in partnership with a range of organisations across Devon and Somerset to be our ‘eyes and ears’. Together we can reach the most vulnerable people in our communities to keep them safe from fire.
