Vehicle fire

Fire Control received numerous calls reporting an HGV on fire on the A361 M5 Junction 27 and Gornhay Cross. The vehicle was well alight upon the arrival of Fire Crews and the road was closed. Crews used Compressed Air Foam (CAFS) and a safety jet to extinguish the fire which originated in the cab spreading to the rear trailer. Four Breathing Apparatus Wearers worked to put the fire out and a ground monitor was used to attack the fire from a safe distance. A Thermal Imaging Camera was also used to check for hotspots. Police were also in attendance.
