Urban Search and Rescue (USAR)
Following a call from Ambulance requesting our attendance to help them extricate a casualty from the Bell Tower from the local Church, Control mobilised two fire engines and additional appliances carrying equipment from Barnstaple and the Urban Search and Rescue Team based in Exeter.
Upon arrival, Firefighters confirmed that the casualty was located up a spiral staircase. To extricate the casualty crews used an Abtec Tripod and Basket Stretcher.
Crews left the casualty in the hands of Ambulance crews.
