Property fire

2 fire appliances from Taunton were mobilised to a property from St Albans Place in Taunton, following a call from the occupant reporting a fire in their kitchen. Fire Control confirmed at the time of call that they were safely able to evacuate and wait for our arrival. 

Shortly after arriving and entering the property crews located the fire in the ground floor kitchen, involving a dishwasher. An ambulance was also requested for the occupant suffering from smoke inhalation. Crews soon had the fire under control using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 safety, a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and lastly as positive pressure fan to clear the ground floor of smoke. The fire which started accidentally caused minor fire damage to the kitchen but 70% damage by smoke. The incident was under control at 10:09hrs and once the property was made safe duty of care was left with Ambulance paramedics.
