Three fire appliances from South Molton, Barnstaple and Combe Martin were mobilised to a call from the occupants of a property in Brayford nr South Molton where a fire had started and smoke was issuing from the propetry. Fire Control confirmed that all persons were able to safely evacuate and wait for our arrival.

South Molton crew were the first to arrive on scene and confirmed smoke was issuing from the first floor of the property. Initially it was thought to be a fire in a bedroom but later was confirmed to be a first floor living room, involving a heater and furniture. Crews soon had the fire, which started accidentally, under control, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the property, although the first floor sustained 100% smoke damage, with fire damage contained to the room of origin only. In total they used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet, a thermal imaging camera and ladders for access. There were no casualties and once the scene was made safe, duty of care was left the occupants.
