Crews from Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury and Wells were mobilised to the B3139 Wells Road, Stratton On The Fosse nr Radstock, following a 2 vehicle RTC, involving 2 cars, that had collided with a large fallen tree, trapping the driver of one of the vehicles. On arrival of initial crews they confirmed the casualty was medically, not physically, trapped and set to work stabilising the vehicles, making the surrounding area safe due to other precarious trees/fallen debris and gaining access to the casualty to allow for a safe and effective rescue.

This incident is now complete and was brought under control at 09:35hrs. Crews worked alongside Ambulance paramedics to extricate the casualty, using hydraulic cutting equipment, and was then conveyed to hospital via land ambulance. The Air Ambulance was also mobilised and attended and, whilst not required for this RTC, ended up staying on scene to air lift a female casualty from another RTC that occurred just down the road, also caused by a fallen tree. This additional RTC has its own entry on the news desk. These are the full and final details for this incident.
