Fire Control received  multiple calls reporting a property on fire in Glastonbury. Crews from Glastonbury, Street and Wells was immediately mobilised.

After booking in attendance, crew confirmed that the property was well alight and requested the attendance of the Police for a road closure, and requested 2 additional fire engines which was mobilised from Shepton Mallet, including the Command Support Unit from Wiveliscombe.

This was a derelict property measuring approximately 5m x 12m consisting of 2 floors. Due to the fire, the property sustained a partial roof collapse and there was also solar panels involved in the fire, crew got to work using 3x main jets and 1x hose reel jet. 

Crews made steady progress throughout the early hours of the morning, using 3x main jets, 2x triple extension ladders and breaching tools. The incident was shortly scaled back so that 2x fire engines remained in attendance and they got to work damping down.
