Property fire
Fire Control received a call reporting an electrical fire in a domestic property and mobilised crews from Tiverton, Cullompton and Bampton.
On arrival at the incident crews confirmed that there was fire involving a fuse board and got to work with two breathing apparatus and one dry powder extinguisher and requested Western Power to attend to assist with isolating the external power supply to the property.
Update at 10:26 Breathing apparatus has been discontinued, gas and electricity supplies have been isolated. Confirmed fire in fuse board and earthing cable to gas supply, crews are checking hotspots using a thermal imaging camera.
Update at 10:29 South Western Ambulance Service in attendance to undertake care of one female casualty suffering from smoke inhalation.
Update at 11:28 Final details confirmed as an electrical fire in the main fuse board a two storey semi detached domestic building involving electrical fuse boards, incoming supply and gas metre. Crews used two breathing apparatus, one dry powder extinguisher and one thermal imaging camera. One female casualty suffering from smoke inhalation checked over by ambulance crews and given the all clear. The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
