Watch Managers - Exeter Group

Summary

The Service is currently recruiting for Watch Managers across the Exeter Group on permanent and temporary contracts, applications are invited from those interested in the role as either a lateral move or a promotion opportunity.

Roles currently available:

Watch Manager – Exmouth White Watch – Permanent

Watch Manager – Middlemoor White Watch – Temporary for up to 6 months

This process will be used to fill any temporary or permanent Watch Manager vacancies within Exeter Group over the next 3 months.

Please note: Due to current recruitment controls if the successful candidate can fill a permanent role via a lateral move, then they will be appointed on a permanent basis. Should the successful candidate be applying for the role as a promotion then they will be appointed into the role on a temporary basis for 12 months. If the vacancy is temporary, it will be filled temporarily regardless of if it is filled by a lateral move or promotion.

If appointed on a temporary basis the successful applicant should acknowledge that it does not, in anyway, confer the right to be permanently appointed to this role, at this rank or to move to another role at the same rank, whether permanent or temporary. Should the decision subsequently be made to make this specific role permanent, Service leadership reserves the right, but is not obliged to, appoint the temporary post holder permanently without a further recruitment process.

From 1 April, we have introduced development rates of pay for any new individuals moving into a development or an acting-up role. These pay rates are set out by the National Joint Council.
