Fire control received a 999 call reporting a large fire in the distance. One fire engine from Street was sent. On arrival crews confirmed this was actually a tractor, baler and trailer well alight in a field near Moorlinch, Somerset.
Crews asked for further assistance from one of our Ground Hog vehicles which are equipped for fire fighting in rural areas and off road locations. This was sent from Cheddar.
Crews extinguished the fire using:
- A light portable pump
- one main jet
The tractor, baler and trailer well all totally destroyed by the fire and the cause was accidental.
