Fire control received a call from a member of the public reporting an electric vehicle on fire outside a property in Yeovil. 

Control immediately mobilised an appliance from Yeovil alongside 2 supporting officers. 

Once in attendance crews confirmed smoke issuing from the vehicle and set about investigating and extinguishing the fire using 2 x Breathing Apparatus and a Hose Reel Jet. 

Crews were making steady progress damping the engine compartment on the vehicle and preventing the fire from spreading further. 

Following advise and assistance from onsite engineers crews confirmed that the high voltage system in the car had been isolated and the fire had been extinguished. 

Unfortunately 40% of the vehicle was damaged by fire, the fire was believed to be accidental.
