Property fire
Fire Control received calls to reports of a fire in a domestic property.
2 fire engines from Minehead and 1 from Porlock, along with an Operational Assurance Officer were sent to the location.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a fire in the living room of a flat. All occupants and neighbours were accounted for.
Crews got to work with 2 breathing apparatus wearers and 1 hose reel jet to fight the fire.
This was a building of 2 floors, of standard construction used as a domestic dwelling. The fire involved a candle and furniture within the lounge area of the property. Crews extinguished the fire using 2 breathing apparatus wearers, 1 hose reel jet, 1 safety jet, 1 thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the property of smoke.
The room of origin sustained severe fire damage and the cause was accidental.
