Property fire
The fire service received a call for smoke issuing from a kitchen window of a flat in Brentford Avenue, Plymouth. Fire engines from Camels Head and Crownhill attended this incident along with a supporting officer. On arrival fire crews confirmed fire within kitchen of a first floor flat and got to work with two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to investigate further.
Crews very promptly rescued one elderly male and one dog from the property who was then checked over by ambulance on scene.
Final details ... fire in first floor flat of two storey building measuring approximately 8m x 10m. 10% fire damage and 40% damage by heat and smoke to the kitchen. Equipment used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one covering jet, thermal imaging camera, gas monitor, small tools (for gaining entry) and a first aid kit. The cause of the fire was accidental.
