Property fire

Fire control received a call for a chimney fire on a thatched property in Cheriton Fitzpaine last night.

Two fire engines were mobilised from Witheridge and Danes Castle. 

On arrival crews confirmed that there was a lot of heat coming from the flue of the property, crews used chimney gear and small tools. 

Crews requested the help of Urban Search and Rescue for their specialist equipment to help with shoring up. 

Crews will be attending a revisit this morning to ensure fire hasn't reignited.
