Property fire
Fire Crews from Greenbank, Camels Head, Crownhill, Newton Abbot, Plympton, Ivybridge, Modbury and Totnes attended a fire within a commercial unit which measured 190msq earlier today.
Upon arrival, crews found that the fire had spread to the first floor and roof of the building. Crews then got to work tackling the fire using 4 x breathing apparatus, 2 x hose reel jets, 1 x safety jet, 2 x thermal image camera, 2 x hydrants, environmental pack from the attending Environmental Protection Unit and small tools.
The commercial unit on ground and first floor was 100% damaged by fire, a full road closure was also put in on King Street and Belmont Street due to fuel contaminants Environment Agency and South West Highways carried out the clean up of these roads.
UPDATE - This property has been reinspected by crews this morning and afternoon, and crews have damped down hot spots. The incident was deemed as accidental ignition, and will now be closed.
