Fire Control mobilised the on-duty crew from Danes Castle to a report of smoke issuing from a drains cover.
Shortly after booking in attendance, crew discovered that white smoke was issuing from an electric manhole cover and requested the attendance of National Grid.
Crew got to work by making the area safe and closed the road until National Grid got in attendance.
The electrics were succesfully isolated and the fire extinguished.
