Fire Control received an emergency call reporting a horse stuck in a slurry pit. 
Fire crew from Hatherleigh and the Animal Rescue Team from Barnstaple was immediately mobilised alongside with 2 officers.

Shortly after booking in attendance, crew confirmed that the horse was stuck in the slurry pit and a member of staff was with the horse to attempt to keep it calm. Crew are also at work using safety working at height equipment, mud mats and a telehander. 

At 16:05, crews successfully rescued the horse using inflatable mudmats, telehandler and animal rescue equipment.
