Property fire
Fire control received a call to a retail premises in the Keyham area of Plymouth with smoke issuing from the building.
Control mobilised 3 fire appliances from Camels Head and Greenbank, 1 Aerial Ladder Platform and a supporting officer.
Once in attendance, crews confirmed smoke issuing from the basement of a retail premise with domestic flats above. Crews were preparing to deploy 2 breathing apparatus and 1 attack jet.
Crews on scene passed an assistance message requesting another 2 fire appliances for extra breathing apparatus. These appliances were mobilised from Crownhill.
Update - fire within basement of 4 storey building. Crews confirmed flats above are now clear of any persons inside. Crews are using 6 breathing apparatus, 1 attack jet and 1 safety jet, 3 thermal imaging cameras and small tools.
Final update - crews confirmed fire within the basement has been extinguished. The incident was sectorised and event decision logs and analytical risk assessments were completed. Crews used a total of 8 breathing apparatus, 1 attack jet, 1 safety jet,3 thermal imaging cameras, 1 gas monitor and small tools.
