Property fire

Fire Control mobilised 2 pumping appliances from Paignton and 1 from Torquay to a reported fire in a food retail establishment. On arrival a fire was discovered in a food warmer.  Flats above were evacuated and firefighters used 1 hose reel jet and 1 safety jet to extinguish the fire.  Lighting was also used and a positive pressure ventilation fan to remove smoke from the property. The cause was determined to be accidental. Crew on scene gave home safety and evacuation advice to the residents of the flats over the retail premises.
