Property fire

Fire Control received a call reporting a fire and mobilised crews from Castle Cary, Wincanton and Shepton Mallett.

On arrival crews confirmed that smokes and flames were issuing from the property.

15:34 One domestic bungalow well alight measuring 5metres x 7metres, one dog rescued, water being supplied by street hydrant. Crews at work with four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one safety jet.

15:56 Fire believed to be out.

16:20 Semi detached bungalow measuring 5 metres x 7 metres constructed of brick walls and tiled roof. Property 5% damaged by fire and 100% damaged by smoke. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet, one covering jet and one fan. One small dog rescued from property. The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
