Property fire
Fire Control received multiple calls reporting a barn on fire at the above location. On route the Incident Commander made pumps 4 due to large amounts of smoke in the area. Upon arrival crews confirmed the barn to be well alight with 300 hay bales inside. All cattle have been removed from the barn and to a safe location. Crews are at work with 2 hose reel jets, one 70mm jet and one 45 mm jet.
21:40 Update- The incident commander on scene has now made pumps 6 and water carriers 2 for personnel and additional water on scene. The incident has now been sectorised and crews are at work protecting surrounding buildings in the area.
01:20 Update- This incident has now been scaled back to 3 pumping appliances with crews working in 3 sectors on watching briefs. Relief crews are now on scene and this incident will continue overnight with further reliefs expected later on this morning.
20:35 - This was a barn consisting of 300 bales of hay and straw. Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets, one ground monitor, three 45mm Main Jets. Water was supplied by two water carriers and one hydrant. The remaining contents of the barn is being allowed to burn out with the owner in attendance.
