Fire Control received an emergency call reporting a fire in a bedroom of a 5th floor property in Exeter. Crew from Middlemoor, Danes Castle (Whole-Time and On-Call), Clyst St George, Exmouth (Whole-time and On-Call) and the Incident Command unit from Honiton was immediately mobilised.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed that smoke was issuing from the 5th floor and an assistance message was received requesting the attendance of a further 2 appliances - 2x fire engines from Wellington was mobilised.
Crew successfully extinguished the fire using a total of 10x breathing apparatus, main hose reel jet, safety jet, corridor protection jet, positive pressure ventilation fan and a mini-ejector pump.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
